JOIN THE PENNSYLVANIA POOR PEOPLE'S CAMPAIGN FOR OUR MONTHLY VIRTUAL WE CRY JUSTICE BOOK STUDY GROUP!
The Bible cries for justice, and we do too. It’s time to act on God’s persistent call to repair the breach and fight poverty, not the poor.
From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible proclaims justice and abundance for the poor. Yet these powerful passages about poverty are frequently overlooked and misinterpreted.
Enter The Poor People’s Campaign, a movement against racism, poverty, ecological devastation, militarism, and religious nationalism. In We Cry Justice, Liz Theoharis, co-chair of the campaign, is joined by pastors, community organizers, scholars, low-wage workers, lay leaders, and people in poverty to interpret sacred stories about the poor seeking healing, equity, and freedom.
In a world roiled by poverty and injustice, Scripture still speaks. Organized into fifty-two chapters, each focusing on a key Scripture passage, We Cry Justice offers comfort and challenge from the many stories of the poor taking action together. Read anew the story of the exodus that frees people from debt and slavery, the prophets who denounce the rich and ruling classes, the stories of Jesus’s healing and parables about fair wages, and the early church’s sharing of goods. Reflection questions and a short prayer at the end of each chapter offer the opportunity to use the book devotionally through a year.

Our Climate Crisis is a Corruption Crisis: Monthly Educational with Pennsylvania Action on Climate
Who is the new and bold Pennsylvania climate group that disrupted the exclusive 123 year old gathering of Pennsylvania's business and political elites, chanting "You Take Bribes, the Planet Dies"?
Pennsylvania Action on Climate (PAC) invites you to a PAC 101 presentation, where you'll learn their coalition of climate and anti-corruption activists who are taking the nonviolent direct action necessary to address Pennsylvania’s corruption-fueled climate crisis.
ECOLOGICAL DEVASTATION IS A WAR ON THE POOR: PAC is a proud member of the Pennsylvania PPC, and will unpack ecological devastation as one of the five interlocking evils, and how the poor and dispossessed shoulder the burden of the climate crisis.
SOME HISTORY: In June 2022, Pennsylvania climate advocates, anti-corruption activists, and concerned residents converged in Harrisburg to address Pennsylvania’s worsening corruption-fueled climate crisis.
On Monday June 13th, over 50 people confronted the state legislature to demand they stop fueling the climate crisis with their greed and corruption. Ten were arrested and charged with criminal trespass. After a weekend filled with rigorous discussion about what actions come next, PAC was born.
June 29th: Mass Mobilization in D.C
JOIN THE MASS POOR PEOPLE’S & LOW-WAGE WORKERS’ ASSEMBLY & MORAL MARCH ON WASHINGTON D.C. & TO THE POLLS!
Saturday, June 29th | 10AM | Washington, D.C. | Third & Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
The Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival is calling on people of moral conscience to join us on June 29th in the nation’s capital to uplift and center the needs of the over 135 million poor and low-wage people and workers across the country.
The June 29th Mass Poor People’s & Low-Wage Workers’ Assembly and Moral March on Washington D.C. & to the Polls will launch outreach to 15 million poor and low-wage infrequent voters ahead of the 2024 U.S. elections and beyond.
800 people die each day from poverty and low wealth. This is an unacceptable and abolishable reality. Our votes are demands.
We demand that those running for office commit to enacting our 17-Point Agenda, which includes living wages, voting rights, and other essential policies that lift from the bottom.

March 2nd: Poor Peoples Campaign Mass Mobilization in Harrisburg
On Saturday March 2nd the Poor People’s Campaign will hold simultaneous mass poor people’s and low wage worker statehouse assemblies at State Capitals across the country in more than 30 states including here in Pennsylvania.
800 people are dying from poverty every day in the U.S. Poverty is the 4th leading cause of death in the U.S.
The 140 million people in this country who are poor and low income are a sleeping giant. Our job is to wake them up! We have to take action together in order to do this and this mobilization is part of that.
This is part of an arc of activity between now and the election that leads up to it and contains the following parts:
Monday February 5th - meeting with state elected leadership of both parties to announce 40 weeks of action leading to the election.
Monday February 19th - press conferences to announce statehouse actions.
Saturday March 2nd - mass assemblies.
Monday March 4th - demand delivery to elected officials in statehouse.
The Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival challenges the interlocking injustices of systemic racism, the war economy and denial of healthcare, ecological devastation, poverty, and the distorted moral narrative of white supremacy.
